Celebrating African American Poets During National Poetry Month

Power of the Tongue Show & POTT COLLECTIONS Celebrate African American Poets

This April, renowned Performance Poet, Ge'ylah Celebrates African American poetry with the launching of a webspace that offers novelty items such as apparel, journals, posters, coloring books and more that honor preeminent figures of African American poetry and the poet that lie within so many of us, especially all the Little Black Voices -- the children and youth who write and recite poetry.

"I want a Langston Hughes cup to drink my tea from. I want a tee shirt that has Paul Laurence Dunbar on it. That's the type of fun stuff people who love Black poetry want made available to them and I definitely want it around me." states, platform creator Ge'ylah Jones Allen. Allen should know, within her one-woman show "Power of the Tongue", she's performed classic textbook literature on college campuses for over twenty years and has often been asked by attendees did she have any items of this type that they could purchase.

"I asked many people what did they want in this store. And, I want to fulfill each and every request . We are starting off with some basics. But, please stay tuned we will ad so much more."
